An unlawful immigrant allegedly concerned in the taking pictures of an off-duty Customs and Border Safety officer dramatically discovered himself face-to-face with the agent’s offended comrades in a packed Manhattan federal courtroom Friday.
Almost three dozen CBP officers waited hours for Christhian Aybar-Berroa — wearing ripped denims and a $200 T-shirt — to be arraigned on an accessory-after-the-fact cost and ordered held behind bars till not less than a preliminary listening to Aug. 8.
Many officers appeared pissed off, with The Submit overhearing one complain they’d been ready since 7 a.m. for the listening to, which lastly kicked off at 2:30 p.m.
Aybar-Berroa, 22, had a clean expression and matted hair and was sporting the dear tee with a baseball-playing skeleton studying “Godspeed.”
He’s accused of being the getaway driver within the July 19 botched theft inside Fort Washington Park.
His alleged confederate and fellow Dominican Republic nationwide — Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, 21 — shot the off-duty CBP officer through the theft, prosecutors stated.
The officer, who stays hospitalized after being shot within the face and arm, managed to fireside off photographs that clipped Mora Nunez twice, authorities stated.
The injured Mora Nunez scurried again to Aybar-Berroa, who drove him to a hospital and unceremoniously dumped him outdoors.
Mora Nunez has but to be arraigned within the case.
