Olivia Munn is recalling her time on The Newsroom and a disagreement she had with a male director who retaliated by smearing her work ethic.
In a latest interview, Munn opened up about an incident she had on the set of the HBO sequence.
“There was a storyline the place my character and Tom Sadoski’s character are courting and falling in love,” Munn mentioned on Dax Shepherd’s Armchair Professional podcast. “[The director] saved attempting to drive me to hold that storyline solely on my facet. He’s like, ‘Are you able to look out at him and smile?’ And I’m like, ‘Why she’s busy doing this?’ Or, ‘Are you able to cease and snuggle as much as him or flirt with him?’ Or, ‘Are you able to give him a kiss?’ And I’m like, ‘That is in the midst of working.’”
The Your Pals & Neighbors mentioned that she later discovered that the unnamed director informed a film studio she was difficult to work with.
“I used to be on the one-yard-line for the film and my supervisor calls me and says, ‘Hey, you’re gonna get the position. However first, I suppose there’s one other director who they know and he says that on The Newsroom you have been late on a regular basis and actually combative,’” Munn recalled. “I lived seven minutes from there. I used to be by no means late. I used to be like, ‘I do know who that is.’”
She continued, “He simply was attempting to bash me. And I informed my reps, ‘Please inform the administrators this.’ After which I nonetheless obtained the position.
