80 Professional-Palestinian Protesters Arrested At Columbia College

Police responded Wednesday to a request for assist from Columbia College after a big group of pro-Palestinian protesters forcibly entered a campus library and declared it a “liberation zone.”

“Disruptions to our educational actions won’t be tolerated and are violations of our guidelines and insurance policies,” Columbia stated in a press release following the incident, including, “that is particularly unacceptable whereas our college students examine and put together for closing exams.” 

“Columbia strongly condemns violence on our campus, antisemitism and all types of hate and discrimination, a few of which we witnessed at this time,” the college stated. “We’re resolute that requires violence or hurt don’t have any place at our college.”  

Two Columbia Public Security Officers had been injured throughout the protest, based on the college.
