The Cupboard Committee on Financial Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has authorized the event, upkeep, and administration of a 4-lane Greenfield Entry Managed Nationwide Freeway No. 06. This freeway will stretch 166.80 km from Mawlyngkhung close to Shillong in Meghalaya to Panchgram close to Silchar in Assam.

The proposed Greenfield high-speed hall goals to reinforce the service degree for site visitors between Guwahati and Silchar.
