Former Cardinals LT Luis Sharpe, a 3-time Professional Bowler, dies at 65

Longtime Cardinals left deal with Luis Sharpe, a three-time Professional Bowl choice, has died at age 65.

Sharpe performed all 13 of his NFL seasons with the franchise in St. Louis (1982-87) and Arizona (1988-94).

Sharpe’s spouse, Tameka Williams-Sharpe, shared the information of his passing Saturday on social media.

“With deep sorrow and abiding love, I share that my beloved husband, Luis Sharpe, has handed away,” she wrote, per the Arizona Republic. “His power, love, and religion had been a light-weight to all who knew him. I’m grateful for each second we shared and for the numerous prayers and kindnesses prolonged to our household.

“Although my coronary heart is heavy, I belief that Luis is now resting in God’s everlasting peace. Please proceed to maintain our household lifted in prayer.”

Born in Havana, Cuba, Sharpe grew up in Detroit and have become a first-round draft choose (sixteenth general) in 1982 out of UCLA.

He began all 189 of his regular-season video games with the Cardinals and made the Professional Bowl in 1987, 1988 and 1989.
