Lifetime is increasing its Woman In franchise with Woman within the Cellar, its newest Ripped from the Headlines thriller.
Starring Kyla Pratt (The Proud Household) and Kelcey Mawema (Merciless Instruction), the film is about to premiere Saturday, August 23 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
In case you’ve missed any of the earlier films within the franchise and need to catch up, Woman within the Cellar follows Woman within the Attic, Woman within the Storage, The Woman Locked Upstairs, Woman within the Video, Woman in Room 13, Woman within the Basement, Woman within the Bunker, Woman within the Field and Woman within the Shed, amongst others.
Impressed by actual tales, the movie follows a single mom who resorts to excessive measures to regulate her teenage daughter.
The logline: Rebecca (Pratt) grows more and more involved that her daughter Lory (Mawema) will not be making the proper life selections. The closing straw comes when Rebecca learns that Lory has a secret boyfriend, and to stop any additional errors, she decides to restrict Lory in their basement cellar. What Lory doesn’t know is that that is the identical cellar the place Rebecca was held captive by her abusive father years in the past. As Lory battles for survival, the neighbors start to note her absence, and Rebecca’s habits attracts suspicion, making her a major suspect in her daughter’s disappearance. Haunted by her traumatic previous, Rebecca grapples together with her actions and the conflicting emotions of guilt and justification over what she has performed.
