Vinay Prasad named FDA’s chief medical and science Officer

WASHINGTON — Vinay Prasad will now maintain three separate jobs on the Meals and Drug Administration, solidifying his place as a high adviser to Commissioner Marty Makary.

Prasad will function the company’s chief medical and scientific officer, along with main the middle that regulates vaccines, gene therapies, and the blood provide, in keeping with an inside memo obtained by STAT. Historically, the company’s chief scientist and chief medical officer have been two distinct roles.
