Pango cancels Gett acquisition after regulator’s objections

Israeli parking funds app Pango has canceled its acquisition of taxi hailing app Gett (previously Get Taxi). The cancelation follows a 12 months of discussions and negotiations with the Israeli Competitors Authority, which was involved that the merger would crowd out competing apps resembling Cellopark within the parking funds sector and Yango within the taxi sector.

Pango is the largest journey and parking cost app in Israel, whereas Gett is the biggest taxi app by a large margin over its rival Yango, after the opposite competitor available in the market, Uber, closed down its Israel operations.







Pango introduced final Could that it was buying Gett for about NIS 700 million.
