Ukraine is not going to quit land, Zelensky says forward of Trump-Putin assembly

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has underlined he’ll make no territorial concessions to Russia forward of a scheduled assembly between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on the way forward for the conflict in Ukraine.

The US-Russia assembly is because of happen in Alaska on 15 August.

Hours earlier than asserting the assembly, Trump had signalled Ukraine might need to cede territory to finish the conflict, which started with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Zelensky stated in a Telegram submit on Saturday that “Ukrainians is not going to give their land to the occupier”. He reiterated that Ukraine should be concerned in any resolution for peace, and stated he is able to work with companions for a “actual” and “lasting” peace.

Zelensky stated Ukraine “is not going to give Russia awards for what it has executed”.

“The reply to the Ukrainian territorial challenge is already within the Structure of Ukraine. Nobody will and can’t deviate from this,” he added.

Zelensky stated on Saturday that Ukraine is prepared for “actual options that may convey peace” however underlined that Ukraine wanted to be concerned.

“Any options which are in opposition to us, any options which are with out Ukraine, are concurrently options in opposition to peace,” he stated.
