As public media is going through massive federal funding cuts, the native PBS station, PBS SoCal, led the listing of winners on the 77th Los Angeles Space Emmy Awards, handed out June 26 throughout a ceremony on the Skirball Cultural Middle hosted by Spectrum Information 1 anchor Kelvin Washington.
PBS SoCal landed 8 Emmys, adopted by KMEX-TV and KVEA (7 every), ABC7 and KTLA5 (3), Spectrum Information 1 and Spectrum SportsNet LA (2) in addition to Los Angeles Instances, NBC4 and USC Soccer (1).
KVEA swept all three Frequently Scheduled Newscast classes, whereas protection of the Franklin hearth by ABC7 was acknowledged for dwell protection of an unscheduled information occasion.
KCBS/KCAL sportscaster Jim Hill was the recipient of the 2025 Los Angeles Space Emmy Governors Award.
