EPFO studies document breaking internet addition of 20.06 lakh members in Could 2025

The Staff’ Provident Fund Group (EPFO) has reported its highest-ever month-to-month internet addition of 20.06 lakh members in Could 2025, marking a historic milestone for the reason that inception of payroll knowledge monitoring in April 2018. Union Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports activities Minister Mansukh Mandaviya attributed this achievement to the pro-youth, pro-worker reforms pushed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s management, emphasizing that the federal government’s continued concentrate on ease of doing enterprise and inclusive development is fueling formal employment growth.

Key Highlights from EPFO Payroll Information  

New Members Enrolled: EPFO enrolled 9.42 lakh new subscribers, an 11.04% rise over April 2025, signaling increasing employment alternatives and heightened consciousness of social safety advantages. 

Youth Employment Tendencies: The 18-25 age group accounted for five.60 lakh new additions, representing 59.48% of whole new members. This displays a 14.53% month-to-month rise and a continuation of the pattern of younger, first-time job seekers becoming a member of the organized workforce. 

Rejoined Members: 16.11 lakh members rejoined EPFO after earlier exits, exhibiting a 2.12% improve over April and a strong 14.27% development year-on-year. These figures spotlight rising job mobility whereas preserving long-term social safety protection. 

Ladies Workforce Participation: Feminine enrolment noticed a gentle rise, with 2.62 lakh new girls subscribers in Could — up 7.08% from April. Web feminine payroll addition stood at 4.25 lakh, marking a 15.04% year-on-year surge, reflecting rising feminine participation within the formal economic system. 

State-wise Efficiency 

Prime contributors to internet payroll additions have been Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana, collectively accounting for practically 60% of the overall. Maharashtra alone contributed 20.33% of the brand new payroll. 

Trade Tendencies 

Progress in payroll additions was most outstanding in sectors similar to: 

  • Professional Companies (44.61% of additives, predominantly manpower suppliers) 
  • Textiles 
  • Cleansing & Sweeping Companies 
  • Electrical, Mechanical & Common Engineering 
  • Finance 
  • Clothes Manufacturing 

The regular rise in EPFO memberships displays elevated formalization of the workforce, increasing job alternatives for the youth and girls, and a maturing consciousness round long-term monetary safety amongst staff.
