Dramatic new video has surfaced exhibiting the harrowing second a Delta Air Strains jet’s engine burst into flames simply seconds after takeoff.
Captured by L.A. FLIGHTS, the footage reveals fireplace capturing from the plane’s left engine because it ascended into the sky from Los Angeles Worldwide Airport, making a terrifying spectacle for these watching beneath.
The incident occurred Friday aboard Delta Flight 446, a Boeing 767 headed to Atlanta with 226 passengers and 9 crew members. The pilots rapidly responded to the emergency, circling again to LAX and safely touchdown the aircraft.
By the point the plane reached the gate, the flames had subsided. No accidents had been reported. Delta says it is investigating the reason for the engine malfunction.
