Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers mentioned Tuesday he is “fairly certain” the 2025 season will probably be his closing NFL season.
“Yeah, I am fairly certain that is it,” Rodgers mentioned on “The Pat McAfee Present” on Tuesday. “That is why we simply did a one-year deal.”
The four-time NFL MVP signed a one-year, $13.65 million take care of the Steelers earlier this month. The deal contains $10 million assured and will be value as much as $19.5 million with incentives, sources added.
The take care of Pittsburgh arrange a Week 1 showdown between Rodgers and his most up-to-date former group, the New York Jets, who will host the Steelers of their season opener.
Rodgers, 41, was launched by the Jets in March, one month after what he later described as a contentious assembly with new coach Aaron Glenn and new common supervisor Darren Mougey.
Earlier than becoming a member of the Jets, Rodgers spent the primary 18 seasons of his profession with the Inexperienced Bay Packers. He’ll face Inexperienced Bay for the primary time this season in Week 8 on “Sunday Evening Soccer.”
He’s the Packers’ franchise chief in landing passes (475), completion proportion (65.3) and passer ranking (103.6) and ranks second behind solely Brett Favre in passing yards (59,055) and completions (5,001).
The 2025 season will probably be Rodgers’ twenty first within the NFL.
