Columbia College activist Mahmoud Khalil has mentioned the Trump administration did not suppress pro-Palestinian voices, following his launch from greater than three months in immigration detention.

“My existence is a message” to the Trump administration, he advised the BBC after returning to New Jersey from a detention centre in Louisiana. “All these makes an attempt to suppress Professional-Palestinian voices have failed now.”

Mr Khalil was a distinguished voice within the New York college’s pro-Palestinian protests final 12 months, and his 8 March arrest sparked demonstrations in New York and Washington DC.

The US authorities needs to deport him, arguing his activism is detrimental to international coverage pursuits.
