Photographer captures Sen. Alex Padilla’s takedown

Instances photographer Luke Johnson captured the second when authorities tackled and handcuffed Sen. Alex Padilla on Thursday when he interrupted Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem’s information convention in Los Angeles.

Johnson’s pictures doc most of the key moments of an encounter that has sparked controversy amid President Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Padilla speaks out

The senator later held a press convention to explain what occurred.

“I used to be compelled to the bottom, and I used to be handcuffed,” Padilla stated. “I used to be not arrested. I used to be not detained.”

If that is how the Trump administration treats a “senator with a query,” Padilla stated, with tears in his eyes, “I can solely think about what they’re doing to cooks, to day laborers out within the Los Angeles neighborhood.”
