As anticipated, this launch of macOS does drop some older Intel machines from the road. That is what’s supported:
- MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Professional with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Professional (16‑inch, 2019)
- MacBook Professional (13‑inch, 2020, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports)
- iMac (2020 and later)
- Mac mini (2020 and later)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Professional (2019 and later)
These machines have been dropped:
- iMac Professional (2017)
- Mac mini (2018)
- MacBook Professional (2018)
- iMac (2019)
- Intel MacBook Air (2020)
Within the State of the Union, Apple introduced macOS 27 would require Apple silicon.
