WWDC25: macOS Tahoe Compatibility, Will Be Final to Assist Intel Macs

As anticipated, this launch of macOS does drop some older Intel machines from the road. That is what’s supported:

  • MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Professional with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Professional (16‑inch, 2019)
  • MacBook Professional (13‑inch, 2020, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports)
  • iMac (2020 and later)
  • Mac mini (2020 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Professional (2019 and later)

These machines have been dropped:

  • iMac Professional (2017)
  • Mac mini (2018)
  • MacBook Professional (2018)
  • iMac (2019)
  • Intel MacBook Air (2020)

Within the State of the Union, Apple introduced macOS 27 would require Apple silicon.
