Common Music Group is being sued by a person who claims he labored with enormous acts like Johnny Money, Twisted Sister and Shania Twain and is owed over $72 million for unpaid providers.
Within the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, a person named Gary Douglas Peabody claims Johnny Money known as him up in 1970 and requested him to return to New York to get signed as a singer or backup singer and author. He says Money was working for UMG.
He claims Johnny known as him up once more in 1974 and instructed him UMG owed him $25 million … asking him to return to NY to gather the funds.
Peabody claims in 1993, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snyder known as him on the cellphone and instructed him he is owed $10 million for lyrics he is written for the band, which was signed to UMG.
He additionally claims he did backup lyrics work over the cellphone for UMG … and says he is been instructed the songs he labored on generated $100 million.
Peabody claims in 1996 Shania Twain, who’s signed to UMG, known as him and mentioned a backup job.
He says UMG reps known as him in 2015 and requested him for lyrical providers, which he says he offered over the cellphone … and he claims in 2017 he declined a job supply with UMG as a result of he hadn’t been paid for prior providers.
Peabody claims he reached out to UMG about being paid in April 2025 and hasn’t heard again, so he filed a lawsuit. He says he is owed $72,325,000.
Price noting … he would not point out any contracts or having something in writing.
